Is engine remapping actually worth it for daily drivers?

I’ve been thinking about engine remapping lately, mainly because my car feels a bit underpowered on highways. But I keep hearing mixed opinions. Some say it’s the best upgrade you can do, others warn about long-term engine stress and fuel economy issues.
From what I’ve gathered, a proper remap can improve throttle response, torque, and even efficiency if done right. But I guess it really depends on the engine type, driving habits, and who’s doing the tuning. A bad map seems like where most horror stories come from.
I’ve noticed this topic comes up a lot in the https://nobukojapan.com/united-kingdom too, especially with imported vehicles that already have different specs. Makes me wonder if remapping is more beneficial for those cars or riskier.
I was browsing some guides on Nobuko Japan recently, and they had a few practical insights about performance mods and import cars that got me thinking more seriously about it.
Curious to hear real experiences here. Have you done a remap? Worth it or regret it?
