Yes I indeed thing it means "Verbesserungsvorschlag" (so "Idea for improvement").
As you might recognize it only is used by "Nalindir" and not other users - maybe he used it in his job (where he did similar stuff)
Oh, so it is not a standard abbreviation. I will not use it then.
Thank you for the explanation!
Matthew
What does "VV" mean in TVTower GitHub Issues, please?
Perhaps "Verbesserung Vorschlag"? But they do not have the "enhancement" tag.
It is used as a tag in several Issues titles.
One example says "VV im Sinne der Nostalgie. ". But this does not help to understand, really.
Only 24hrs/day mode for now.
OK, I am sure the TODO list is very long!
Stationmap: go to your office and click on the map of .... tadaa ... Germany (right side of the computer). There you can buy antennas, links to satellites or cable networks.
Everything is obvious when you know how to do it.
And I now realize that buying transmitters is critical to profitability, so that was very helpful, thank you.
I did some more digging in the code and discovered that you wrote Dig too. Even more impressive!
Cool Beans ... and btw Brucey is from UK too - Mark Sibly from New Zealand and I ... from Germany.
We are very blessed to live in the first time when ordinary people from around the world can easily co-operate in common projects. The article about TV-Tower in SyntaxBomb Magazine proves that you have made great use of that opportunity.
I have figured out most things using the English help screens (thank you!), but a couple of things still confuse me.
1. I have seen screenshots of a map of Germany where you can buy new transmitters. How do I buy new transmitters, please? Which room?
2. In the Settings, there is an option to turn off 24-hour play, but it cannot be changed ("greyed out"). Can I change this setting or is the code is not written yet? I realize it is a 0.7 game and many things are not finished yet.
Many thanks|Vielen Dank,
Matthew
I have been looking for a good TV scheduling game for several months and yesterday I discovered TV Tower. I enjoyed playing it.
I also discovered BlitzMax for the first time and have been reading about it.
The most impressive thing is that the game appears to be largely the work of one person (Ronny) and it is written in a framework (BlitzMax-NG) that is largely the work of one person (Brucey) and in a language (BlitzMax) that was largely the work of one person (Mark Sibly). I realize other people contributed as well, but I think it was mostly one person each time, and they worked for decades each time. It shows that one person can achieve a lot with persistence and hard work.
Ronny, I am especially impressed that you have done the coding and the art work. They are very different skills.
To Ronny and everyone else who has contributed: thank you very much! Danke schön!
I wish you all the best with your future efforts.
